A Greener Fringe

In partnership with Waste Management of Canada, we are continuing our green plan to lessen our impact on the environment.

  • Waste Management of Canada Recycle Stations will be available throughout the site for our patrons to assist us in the separation of waste and recyclable materials. Bins are labelled accordingly to separate general waste from bottles and cans and paper and cardboard.
  • New for 2011: All general and compostable waste will be amalgamated in common containers and transported to the City of Edmonton’s Waste Management Centre for sorting and processing. All recyclable and compostable materials will be separated from general waste. Our goal is to divert over 80% waste generated by the Festival from landfill.
  • Festival vendors will separate their cardboard from general waste to help facilitate the handling of materials.
  • Our Festival Green Team will continue to collect all bottles and cans on site.
  • All Festival food vendors will provide biodegradable cutlery, plates, and cups to serve our patrons. Patrons are also encouraged to bring their own reusable containers.
  • Water stations will be available for our patrons to refill their containers. [map]
